Effective Storytelling: Integrating Storytelling into the Culture of Your Organization
Format: Online recorded webinar
Length: 60 minutes
Using Storytelling to Grow Members Commitment
Nonprofits need to develop methods to motivate individuals to engage. Stories — when told well — move our audience from information recipient to engaged action taker.
Storytelling is much more than sharing something that happened. Great stories create emotion, connection, interest in the outcome. They establish loyal, informed, committed and engaged “members” that are passionate about your cause. They excite members and make them compassionate towards the needs you address.
Ultimately, great stories build the sense of value and connection that leads to consist joyful motivated donors.
But creating stories that move people is not as easy as it sounds.
In this Master Class, Jeff Miles, Development Director of Keystone Resources, will reveal the storytelling techniques he uses to evoke emotion and build an invested audience. Jeff’s stories go beyond the typical “donor-as-hero” formula — and he’ll share why wrapping up everything with a successful conclusion is a mistake.
In this session you will:
- Why—and how—you should make your audience uncomfortable.
- Ways to conclude your stories to get people to participate, and what you should say along the way.
- The role your audience plays in the stories you tell.
- Plus, the answer to getting your whole organization on message.
